The purpose of this relay is to interrupt the operation of an Automatic Load Tap Changer if one or more of the vacuum bottles in the mechanism have lost their vacuum and are arcing internally. These receive “front of the line” service on arrival, as industry wide, there seem to be no spares available anywhere.
